Principal's Corner

To our IS 125Q Families.

The beginning of a school year comes with many emotions, and the one that rises above all others is excitement. Excitement is a good thing; it's a motivator.

Today in our building, your children demonstrated great care and consideration mixed with the excitement of being in a new school, meeting new teachers, and seeing friends. 

Our pledge to our 125Q community is that we will work in partnership to strengthen the school/home connection. We are planning monthly events with our first one being "Meet the Staff" Night on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 4PM-7PM. 

We are also using our New York State and MAP Diagnostic Data to create tailored instructional paths for your children. This will help them build academic skills while learning with grade-level material. We want all of our students to excel and that starts in the classroom with instruction that is meeting the needs of your children.

IS 125Q will continue to plan large grade events, class field trips, and in-school events. Celebration is part of the learning experience. We would love to have the parent community be part of all celebrations. We are planning our Fall Festival for late October/early November.

The staff of IS 125Q is here to be in service to the community. New for this school year is our 6th Grade Bilingual Class. We are also 100% a Class Size Reduction school. Classes will have no more than 23 students in each class. This is exciting as smaller classes bring more opportunities for individualized attention. IS 125Q is becoming a RULER school, which the families from PS 199Q may be familiar with already.
