Student Self-Transportation: Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards
Bicycles and Kick Scooters:
IS 125Q does not have a bicycle rack for students to lock up their personal bicycles or kick scooters. If a student rides their bike or kick scooter to school, they must find a place in the neighborhood to lock up their bicycle.
Electric Scooters/Bikes:
As per FDNY policy, no student, parent/guardian, or staff member can store an Electric Scooter or Electric Bike on school grounds.
Skateboards:
Students are responsible for their own skateboards. Skateboards, if brought, must be locked away in your child's homeroom class.
We encourage all students to wear a helmet if they are using bicycles, scooters, eScooters, and/or skateboards.
IS 125Q is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen modes of transportation.
Personal Sports Equipment
IS 125Q provides students with athletic equipment during recess and PE classes.
We understand that students may prefer to bring in their own basketball, soccer ball, football, and/or volleyball.
We encourage students to leave their personal items at home. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
If personal athletic equipment is stolen, our deans will use all available resources to assist in locating the stolen items, but this may not result in locating the items.
Let your children use our equipment. We buy new items each year to replace warped and damaged items.
